Sites in Eastleigh Borough

The following sites have been subject to the first round of appraisal and at this stage have been considered suitable for investigating further. These sites are identified on the location plans as ‘green’.

Each of the waste sites, where the area is known, has potential uses listed against them. These potential uses are based purely on the size of the site. The characteristics and constraints of the site have not been taken into consideration at this stage. As such, consultees should be aware that these are not proposed uses and no final decisions have been made on what waste management uses the sites are suitable for.

Where extraction details of mineral sites is known, the information is provided. If the site is located in an area where the geology may be suitable for landfill, this is also noted as well as the potential void space that would created by the extraction. Consultees should be aware that no detailed discussions have been held with the Environment Agency and that the sites potential for landfill is based purely on the known geology of the area.
