Get Involved
The joint planning authorities of Hampshire County Council, Portsmouth City Council, Southampton City Council and the New Forest National Park Authority are keen that everyone has the opportunity to get involved in the preparation of planning documents. Each part of the Hampshire Minerals and Waste Development Framework will go through several different public consultation stages (set out in The Town and Country Planning (Local Development) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2008, and everyone is encouraged to have their say on what is proposed.
Formal public consultations occur at 'pre-submission public participation' and prior to 'submission (to government)' stages. During these times documentation will be put on display for 6 weeks in various locations such as council offices, information centres, libraries and housing offices as well as being available online. Advertisements will be placed in local papers while neighbouring properties, interested stakeholders and statutory consultees will be notified by letter. The Hampshire planning authorities welcome comments during these consultations and encourage responses by letter, paper representation forms or online.
As all responses have to be logged electronically, submission of any comments through our consultation website is much appreciated as it helps in speeding up the process of collating all responses and allows staff to progress to the next stages of work. Please see our Data Protection Statement.
Have your say online
If you would like to register as an 'e-consultee' to comment upon any document undergoing consultation, please 'Register' on our consultation website (click on the word 'Register' in the Log in area). Once registered you will be notified by email when a consultation begins. The dates of upcoming consultations can be found on the Timetable webpage.
