Higher Density Housing in Hampshire
Welcome to the Higher Density Housing in Hampshire web pages, which have been set up by the County Council to promote the benefits of good quality, well designed and attractive high density housing.
“We need to demonstrate the benefits of good practice through real life examples and encourage people to take the importance of good design and planning more seriously.” (DETR, Nov 2000, “Our towns and cities: the future”)
The County Council has established this directory, from information provided by Hampshire’s city, borough and district councils, to demonstrate how high density can be successfully combined with good design to create a high quality living environment.
The schemes range from 33 to 346 dwellings per hectare, appropriate to the wide variety of locations in which they are situated, from city centre to suburban areas and small towns.
Sufficient information is provided to enable you to appreciate the main features of each scheme and help you decide whether to visit them. Contact details are given from whom further information can be obtained.
This directory will be regularly updated. To suggest additional developments that could be added, or for general enquiries on the directory, please contact: Spatial Strategy Group, Environment Department, Hampshire County Council, The Castle, Winchester, SO23 8UD
