Planning Hampshire's Future

Planning Hampshire's Future

Spatial planning aims to steer development and change, so that social and economic needs are met without harming the environment. Planning is mainly undertaken by city, borough and district councils, but Hampshire County Council has responsibility for the planning of transport, minerals, and waste. The County Council also undertakes research and analysis to inform the preparation of plans. The national 'Planning 'Portal' explains in more detail how the planning system operates.
