Highways – Permanent Traffic Order Notices from Eastleigh Borough Council in Eastleigh area.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Eastleigh Borough Council pursuant to arrangements under Section 19 of the Local Government Act 2000 with Hampshire County Council has made the above mentioned Traffic Regulation Amendment Order in exercise of the powers of the said County Council under Sections 1, 2 and 4 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act") and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police.

The general effect of this Order is to insert into The Borough of Eastleigh (Bishopstoke, Fair Oak and Horton Heath) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) (Disabled Persons Parking Places) Order 2004 new waiting restrictions and revoking some as specified below. When this Order was previously advertised it contained more proposals which are not being implemented at this time.

Knowle Lane – Fair Oak

Prohibition of waiting at any time

Requests received to introduce this restriction as a result of indiscriminate parking between Botley Road and Wilcon Court. The restrictions are necessary to help improve visibility for both motorist and pedestrian which is restricted. Due to the current parked vehicles some motorists who overtaking parked cars are unable to stop in the correct lane and thus block the opposite carriageway for oncoming vehicles.

Sayers Road - Bishopstoke

Prohibition of waiting at any time

Requests have been received to introduce restrictions at this junction to maintain visibility, reduce indiscriminate parking and to reduce likelihood of accidents from occurring at this location.

Camborne Close - Bishopstoke

Prohibition of waiting at any time

Prohibition of waiting 8:30-9:30am and 3-4pm Mon-Fri (September-July)

Representations have been received to introduce permanent restrictions east and then south along Camborne Close from its junction with Bodmin Road to maintain visibility, reduce indiscriminate parking and to reduce likelihood of accidents

Representations have been received as to the safety of pupils when leaving school located at the eastern end of this carriageway. This waiting restriction will be in place during the start and finish times of the school day and also to extend during the school year.

The Order will come into operation on 27 March 2013. A copy of the Order may be inspected at my office at the Civic Offices, Leigh Road, Eastleigh during normal office hours or on the Councils website:

Any persons wishing to question the validity of this Order or any provisions contained in it on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or any instrument made under that Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks from 15 March 2013 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
