TRAFFIC ORDER PROPOSALS – 40 AND 50 MILES PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT ON THE B3400 AT WHITCHURCH, LAVERSTOKE AND OVERTON

Highways – Permanent Traffic Order Notices from Hampshire County Council in Basingstoke and Deane area.

EFFECT OF ORDER :   Will be to amend existing and impose a new speed limit on the B3400 between Whitchurch, Laverstoke and Overton as follows:

(i)         Extend the existing 40mph speed limit between Whitchurch and Laverstoke by 112 metres (currently de-restricted), i.e. the restriction will be in effect between a point 250 metres north-east of its junction with C19 Laverstoke Lane and a point 208 metres east of its junction with Lynch Hill Park, an approximate distance of 2224 metres.

(ii)        Impose a 50mph speed limit (currently de-restricted) between Laverstoke and Overton between a point 250 metres north-east of its junction with C19 Laverstoke Lane and a point 704 metres west of its junction with Woodlands, an approximate distance of 1,360 metres.

 (i)         Whitchurch Library, Gill Nethercott Centre, Winchester Road, Whitchurch (Opening hours : Mondays 1 – 5; Wednesdays 1 – 7; Fridays 10 – 5 and Saturdays 10 – 1)

(ii)        Council Offices, London Road, Basingstoke (Opening hours : Mondays to Thursdays 8.30 – 5; Fridays 8.30 – 4.30)

(iii)       Hampshire County Council Headquarters, The Castle, Winchester, SO23 8UJ (Opening hours : Mondays to Thursdays 8.30 – 5.15; Fridays 8.30 – 4.45) 

OBJECTIONS :   All objections and other representations in respect of this proposal must be sent in writing to the undersigned quoting reference:- C652/MB by 7 June 2013.  All objections must state the grounds on which they are made.  Persons wishing to make objections or other representations are advised that in the order-making process, objections or other representations may become publicly available and therefore the names and addresses of those persons making objections or other representations may also be made publicly available.

TITLE :   The order, if made, will be known as “The Hampshire (Various Roads, Whitchurch / Overton / Laverstoke and Freefolk) (30, 40 and 50 Miles Per Hour Speed Limit) Order 2013.”
