THE BOROUGH OF EASTLEIGH (HEDGE END, WEST END AND BOTLEY) (AMENDMENT NO.X) ORDER 201X
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Eastleigh Borough Council pursuant to arrangements under Section 19 of the Local Government Act 2000 with Hampshire County Council proposes to make the above mentioned Order in exercise of the powers of the said County Council under Sections 1, 2 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act") and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Act and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police.
The general effect of this order will be to amend The Borough of Eastleigh (Hedge End, West End and Botley) Consolidation Order 2008 to make the existing waiting restrictions already marked on the estate enforceable by Eastleigh Borough Councils Civil Enforcement Officers.
The waiting restrictions are necessary for road safety reasons and to facilitate the passage of vehicles. They are also required to designate an area of highway as a parking place for a disabled person.
No Waiting At Any Time
'No waiting at any time' restrictions are required at some junctions and bends in the road where parked vehicles restrict the line of sight and/or passage of vehicles.
'No waiting at any time' restrictions are also required in the turning head within Gammon Close where parked vehicles restrict vehicle turning movements. This can result in vehicles reversing the length of Gammon Close and entering Whites Way in reverse gear.
It is also proposed to extend the 'No waiting at any time' on Whites Way at the junction of Jacksons Road. This is to improve the line of sight from Jacksons Road to the west onto Whites Way.
No Stopping on Entrance Markings
Restrictions to prohibit stopping on the entrance markings are required on Wellstead Way outside the school access to prevent stationary vehicles from causing a safety hazard to pupils of the school.
Disabled Person Parking Bay
This Order will dedicate an area of highway on Wellstead Way (near to number 33 Wellstead Way) as a parking place for a disabled person.
A copy of the Order together with a plan showing the roads to which the Order relates and a statement of the Council's reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected at my office at the Civic Offices, Leigh Road, Eastleigh during normal office hours or on the Council's website www.eastleigh.gov.uk/TRO
Objections to these proposals together with the grounds on which they are made must be sent in writing or via the form on the Council's website to the undersigned by 19 July 2013. Letters of support for these proposals will also be received during this period.
