Reissued - River Hamble Notice to River Users 13 of 2013
Hamble Harbour Authority - notice to river users from Hampshire County Council in Basingstoke and Deane, East Hampshire, Eastleigh, Fareham, Gosport, Hart, Havant, Isle of Wight, New Forest, Outside of Hampshire, Portsmouth, Rushmoor, Southampton, Test Valley, Winchester areas.
Notice is hereby given that the Environment Agency will be conducting survey operations on the mudflats in the River Hamble on Thursday 25th July.
The surveys will be conducted from a small hovercraft which has been granted written permission to operate in the River in accordance with River Hamble Bye-Law No 12. Furthermore, permission has been granted for the hovercraft to exceed the River Hamble speed limit of 6 knots if required.
The surveys will take place during daylight hours and around the time of low water and, as the hovercraft will operate mainly over the mudflats, there will be little interference with other vessels navigating in the River.
The hovercraft will monitor VHF Ch 68 throughout.
