THE BOROUGH OF EASTLEIGH PROHIBITION OF CYCLING ON THE ALLEN ROAD TO LOWER NORTHAM ROAD FOOTPATH

Highways – Permanent Traffic Order Notices from Eastleigh Borough Council in Eastleigh area.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Eastleigh Borough Council pursuant to arrangements under Section 19 of the Local Government Act 2000 with Hampshire County Council proposes to make the Order below in exercise of the powers of the said County Council under Sections 1, 2 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act").

In the interests of safety, and to facilitate the passage of pedestrians, it is proposed to prohibit cycling on that length of footpath known locally as the Allen Road footpath between its junction with Allen Road and its junction with Lower Northam Road, an approximate distance of 95 metres.

A copy of the Order, notice and plan together with a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected at my office at the Civic Offices, Leigh Road, Eastleigh during normal office hours or on the Council’s website: www.eastleigh.gov.uk/TRO

Objections to these proposals together with the grounds on which they are made must be sent in writing or via the form on the Council’s website to the undersigned by 13 September 2013. Letters of support for these proposals will also be received during this period.

The Order if made will be known as “The Borough of Eastleigh (Allen Road to Lower Northam Road Footpath) (Prohibition of Cycling) Order 201X”
