ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF ROMSEY ROAD FOOTWAY, ALONGSIDE EASTLEIGH HOUSE, BETWEEN JUNCTIONS WITH STATION HILL AND UPPER MARKET STREET
By arrangements made under section 19 of the Local Government Act 2000 with Hampshire County Council, notice is hereby given that Eastleigh Borough Council proposes to make a temporary closure order pursuant to the legislation above as the Council is satisfied that traffic (and/or pedestrians) on the road(s) below should be restricted because works are proposed to be executed on or near the road, the effect of which is detailed below.
Roads/footways to be closed:
Romsey Road Footway, between junctions with Station Hill and Upper Market Street
Pedestrians to be redirected along Station Hill and into Leigh Road and Upper Market Street
Reason for Closure:
Tree removal works along Station Hill and Romsey Road and scaffolding on Romsey Road, whilst construction work is undertaken to Eastleigh House
Period of Closure:
The order will be effective from 27 February 2013 to 27 August 2014; however it is expected that the footway will be closed for approx. 2 weeks Feb/March 2013 and approx. 6 weeks April/May 2013
The closures specified above apply only during such times and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations & General Directions 2002.
