Temporary Speed Restrictions in North Hampshire

Highways – Temporary Speed Restrictions from Hampshire County Council in Basingstoke and Deane, East Hampshire, Hart, Rushmoor areas.

Notice of Making:

TEMPORARY SPEED RESTRICTION – VARIOUS ROADS IN NORTH HAMPSHIRE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council has made an Order to allow roadside interviews to take place safely, as follows:

EFFECT OF ORDER:

i)To impose a 20 mph speed restriction on those lengths of road listed below:

Pilcott Road, Dogmersfield between its junction with Church Lane and its junction with The Street.

Bourley Road, Church Crookham between its junction with Wellesley Road and its junction with Beacon Hill Road.

A30 Winchester Road, Basingstoke between its roundabout junction with A340 Ringway West and its roundabout junction with The Harrow Way.

B3272 Reading Road, Yateley between its roundabout junction with Darby Green Road and its roundabout junction with Cricket Hill Lane.

Swan Lane / Darby Green Lane / Darby Green Road, Sandhurst & Yateley between the roundabout junction of Darby Green Road with Reading Road and the county boundary in Swan Lane at the Blackwater River.

ii) To impose a stepped speed restriction of 60 mph, 40 mph and 20 mph on the length of road listed below:

A30 London Road, Yateley between its roundabout junction with Reading Road and its roundabout junction with Cricket Hill Lane.

PERIOD OF RESTRICTION: From 9 September 2013 for a period of 2 months or until completion of the interviews, whichever is sooner. (Notwithstanding the above it is expected that the speed restriction will only be in effect for 1 day at each of the above locations between 6 am and 8 pm and only when indicated by signs .)

Order as made:

THE HAMPSHIRE (VARIOUS ROADS, NORTH HAMPSHIRE No. 2)   (TEMPORARY SPEED RESTRICTION) ORDER 2013

Hampshire County Council being the Traffic Authority is satisfied that traffic in the undermentioned roads should be restricted because of the likelihood of danger to the public and, therefore, in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, hereby makes the following order:

Subject to the provision of article 3 below, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed at a speed exceeding 20 miles per hour in those parts of the roads listed in Schedule I below.

Subject to the provision of article 3 below, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed at a speed exceeding the stepped limits indicated in those parts of the road listed in Schedule II below.

The provision of articles 1 and 2 above shall apply only at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

No speed limit imposed by this order applies to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations.

This order may be cited as “The Hampshire (Various Roads, North Hampshire No. 2) (Temporary Speed Restriction) Order 2013”.

This order shall be in operation from 9 September 2013 for a period of 2 months.
