Highways – Permanent Traffic Order Notices from Hampshire County Council in Gosport area.

EFFECT OF ORDER: For an experimental period of 18 months to prohibit traffic from travelling north to south in that length of Elson Lane between its junction with Elson Road and its junction with Exmouth Road.

DATE OF OPERATION: The order will come into operation on 4 November 2013 and continue in force until 3 May 2015.

FURTHER DETAILS: A copy of this notice and the order as made; together with a map showing the location and effect of the order, and a statement of reasons for making the order may be viewed in the document appended to this notice or inspected during the usual office hours at the following places:

(i) Gosport Borough Council, Town Hall, High Street, Gosport (Opening hours : Mondays to Fridays 9 – 5)

(ii) Local Studies Centre, High Street, Gosport (Opening hours : Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 9.30 – 5; Tuesdays and Thursdays 9.30 – 7; Saturdays 9 – 4.30)

(iii) Hampshire County Council Headquarters, The Castle, Winchester, SO23 8UJ (Opening hours : Mondays to Thursdays 8.30 – 5.15; Fridays 8.30 – 4.45)

OBJECTIONS TO MAKING THE ORDER PERMANENT: The County Council will be considering in due course whether the provisions of the order should be continued in force indefinitely. Any person may object to the making of an order for this purpose and such objections must be sent in writing to the undersigned, quoting reference: A902/MB by 4 May 2014. All objections must state the grounds on which they are made. Persons wishing to make objections or other representations are advised that in the order-making process, objections or other representations may become publicly available and therefore the names and addresses of those persons making objections or other representations may also be made publicly available.

APPLICATION TO THE HIGH COURT: Any person who desires to question the validity of the order or of any provision contained in the order on the grounds that it is not within the powers of Sections 1, 2 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of those Sections or of Parts I, II, or III of Schedule 9 to the Act or any regulations made under the said Part III of Schedule 9 have not been complied with in relation to the order may, by 25 November 2013 make application for the purpose to the High Court.
