Traffic Order Proposals - speed limits at Horndean, Finchdean and Rowlands Castle

Highways – Permanent Traffic Order Notices from Hampshire County Council in East Hampshire area.

TRAFFIC ORDER PROPOSALS – HORNDEAN, FINCHDEAN AND ROWLANDS CASTLE (RESTRICTED ROAD, 30 AND 40 MILES PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT)

Hampshire County Council proposes making a traffic order as follows:

EFFECTS OF ORDER: Will be to impose 30 and 40 mph speed limits in the Horndean, Finchdean and Rowlands Castle area, as follows:

30mph Speed Limit on:

C66 Rowlands Castle Road between a point 41 metres east of its junction with Idsworth Close and a point 108 metres east of that point.

40mph Speed Limit on the following lengths of road:

(i) C66 Rowlands Castle Road / Treadwheel Road between a point 149 metres east of its junction with Idsworth Close and a point 15 metres east of its junction with C72 Woodhouse Lane, an approximate distance of 2,300 metres.

(ii) C72 Magpie Road between its junction with C66 Treadwheel Road and its junction with Woodhouse Lane, an approximate distance of 303 metres.

(iii) C72 Woodhouse Lane between its junction with C66 Treadwheel Road and a point 240 metres north of its junction with Links Lane, an approximate distance of 670 metres.

(iv) C72 Woodhouse Lane (spur) between its junction with C66 Treadwheel Road and a point 14 metres thereof.

(v) Pyle Lane, between its junction with C66 Rowlands Castle Road and a point 37 metres south thereof.

(vi) Pyle Lane (eastern spur) between its junction with C66 Rowlands Castle Road and a point 9 metres south thereof.

(vii) Patersons Lane (also known as Rowlands Castle Road) between its junction with C66 Rowlands Castle Road and a point 38 metres north-east thereof.

(viii) Patersons Lane (eastern spur) between its junction with C66 Rowlands Castle Road and a point 23 metres north-west thereof.

(ix) C66 Woodhouse Lane between its junction with C66 Rowlands Castle Road / Treadwheel Road and a point 34 metres north thereof.

(x) C66 Woodhouse Lane (eastern spur) between its junction with C72 Rowlands Castle Road / Treadwheel Road and a point 28 metres north-west thereof.

(xi) B2148 Whichers Gate Road between a point 82 metres south east of its junction with Prospect Lane (end of existing Restricted Road) and a point 423 metres north-west of its junction with Bartons Road, an approximate distance of 969 metres. This corrects a small anomaly in the previous order.

(ii) Horndean Library, Fiveheads Road, Horndean PO8 9NW (Opening hours: Mondays & Thursdays 2-5; Wednesdays 10-1; Fridays 2-7)

(iii) Hampshire County Council Reception, The Castle Winchester SO23 8UJ (Opening hours: Mondays to Thursdays 8.30 – 5.15, Fridays 8.30 to 4.45).

OBJECTIONS: All objections and other representations in respect of this proposal must be sent in writing to the undersigned quoting reference:- C669/C684/SL by 06 December 2013. All objections must state the grounds on which they are made. Persons wishing to make objections or other representations are advised that in the order-making process, objections or other representations may become publicly available and therefore the names and addresses of those persons making objections or other representations may also be made publicly available.

TITLE: The order, if made, will be known as “The Hampshire (Various Roads, Horndean, Finchdean and Rowlands Castle) (Restricted Road, 30 and 40 Miles Per Hour Speed Limit) Order 2013.”
