Highways - Other Temporary Traffic Restrictions from Eastleigh Borough Council in Eastleigh area.

By arrangements made under section 19 of the Local Government Act 2000 with Hampshire County Council, notice is hereby given that Eastleigh Borough Council proposes to make a temporary prohibition of through traffic order pursuant to the legislation above as the Council is satisfied that traffic on the road(s) below should be restricted because of the likelihood of danger to the public using the road, the effect of which is detailed below.

Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic: Stoneham Lane – from the northern side of the entrance to Wellington Sports Ground to its junction with Stoneham Lane, opposite the Concorde Club.

Period of Restriction: The restriction of through traffic order will be in place from 28 February 2017 to 1 June 2018 to facilitate safe pedestrian movement to and from the Silverlake Stadium, Stoneham Lane. Notwithstanding this, individual restrictions on through traffic will be in place to facilitate 'Stadium Event Days' only and are expected to operate for 2 hours prior to the event start time and 2 hours after the event finish time. Pedal cyclists will be exempt from this restriction.

Through traffic will only be restricted during such times and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

Alternative Route

Southbound traffic - From Stoneham Way at its junction with Stoneham Lane (old section, Eastleigh) in a southerly direction along Stoneham Way to its junction with Bassett Green Road, turning right into Bassett Green Road and then right into Stoneham Lane.

Northbound traffic – as above in reverse.

Access to property on Stoneham Lane: Access will be maintained at all times but traffic must approach from, and leave via, the southern end of Stoneham Lane (Southampton).

Advanced warning signs will be placed at least one week prior to each 'Stadium Event Day'.

A copy of the Order together with plans showing the roads to which the Order relates may be inspected at my office at Eastleigh House, Upper Market Street, Eastleigh, during normal office hours.
