ROOKSDOWN 20 MPH SPEED LIMIT PROPOSAL

Highways – Permanent Traffic Order Notices from Hampshire County Council in Basingstoke and Deane area.

TRAFFIC ORDER PROPOSAL – 20 MPH SPEED LIMIT PROPOSAL

Hampshire County Council proposes making a traffic order as follows:

EFFECT OF ORDER :         will be to extend the existing 20 mph speed limit on Rooksdown Avenue by approximately 30 metres, to a point 13 metres south-west of its roundabout junction with Gillies Drive and add the entire lengths of the following roads to the 20 mph speed limit zone:

 Barron Place               Gander Drive              Gillies Drive

Florence Way             Gander Lane             Nightingale Gardens       

It will also amend the following descriptions contained in the 2016 consolidation order :

1.  Schedule I (v) 20 mph on Park Prewett Road to between a point 225 metres south-west of its junction with A340 Aldermaston Road and to include the entire circulatory route of Park Prewett Road, an approximate distance of 1,600 metres.  

2.  Schedule I (viii) Rooksdown Avenue between its junction with A339 Kingsclere Road and a point approximately 13 metres south-west of its roundabout junction with Gillies Drive, an approximate distance of 213 metres move to Schedule II (xxiv) and replace with Rooksdown Avenue between its junction with Park Prewett Road and a point approximately 13 metres south-west of its junction with Gillies Drive, an approximate distance of 126 metres. 

3.  Schedule II (xxv) Park Prewett Road is amended to between a point 64 metres south-west of its junction with A340 Aldermaston Road and a point 161 metres south-west of that point; and the length of 50 mph on Park Prewett Road between its junction with A340 Aldermaston Road and a point 64 metres south-west thereof to be inserted at Schedule V (iii).

The order will also revoke and re-enact other provisions contained in an existing order with no change of substance save for the addition of the restrictions described above and the amendments mentioned.

 (i)        Basingstoke Discovery Centre, 19/20 Westminster House, Festival Place (Opening hours: Monday to Friday 8.30 – 6.30; Saturday 8.30 – 4.30)

(ii)       Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council, Civic Offices, London Road, Basingstoke (Opening hours: Monday to Thursday 8.30-5.00; Friday 8.30-4.30)

(iii)      Hampshire County Council, The Castle, Winchester SO23 8UJ (Opening hours: Monday to Friday 8.30 – 5.15)

OBJECTIONS :   All objections and other representations in respect of this proposal must be sent in writing to the undersigned quoting reference:- C800 /SL by 08 December 2017.   All objections must state the grounds on which they are made.  Persons wishing to make objections or other representations are advised that in the order-making process, objections or other representations may become publicly available and therefore the names and addresses of those persons making objections or other representations may also be made publicly available.

TITLE :   The order, if made, will be known as “The Hampshire (Various Roads, North of Basingstoke) (Restricted Road, 20, 30, 40 and 50 Miles per Hour Speed Limit) Order 2018.”
