Highways Act 1980 & Acquisition of Land Act 1981 - Compulsory Purchase Order

Compulsory Purchase Order from Hampshire County Council in Fareham area.

THE HAMPSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (B3334 STUBBINGTON BYPASS) COMPULSORY PURCHASE ORDER 2018

THE HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 and THE ACQUISITION OF LAND ACT 1981

Notice is hereby given that Hampshire County Council has made The Hampshire County Council (B3334 Stubbington Bypass) Compulsory Purchase Order 2018 under sections 239, 240, 246 and 260 of the Highways Act 1980. It is about to submit this order to the Secretary of State for Transport for confirmation, and if confirmed, the order will authorise Hampshire County Council to purchase compulsorily the land described below for the purpose of:

(a) the construction of a new 3.5 kilometre section of single carriageway road which is to be a highway maintainable at the public expense between B3334 Titchfield Road at a point adjacent to no.293 Titchfield Road at the northern end, and B3334 Gosport Road at a point circa 200m east of Marks Road, at the southern end through predominantly undeveloped farmland which lies within the Meon Strategic Gap;

(b) the improvement of existing highways B3354 Titchfield Road (from the A27 Titchfield Gyratory junction to the junction with the Stubbington bypass) and B3354 Gosport Road (from the junction with the Stubbington bypass to the Peel Common roundabout);

(c) the improvement and alteration of existing highways in the vicinity of the route of the above mentioned highway in pursuance of the Hampshire County Council (B3334 Stubbington Bypass Classified Road) (Side Roads) Order 2018;

(d) the provision of new means of access to premises and agricultural land in pursuance of the Hampshire County Council (B3334 Stubbington Bypass Classified Road) (Side Roads) Order 2018;

(e) the carrying out of drainage works in connection with the construction of highway;

(f) the improvement or development of frontages to highway or of the land adjoining or adjacent to that highway;

(g) use by the Acquiring Authority in connection with the construction and improvement of highway and the provision of new means of access as aforesaid;

(h) in connection with the carrying out of works related to a classified road authorised by a Side Roads Order made under sections 14 and 125 of the 1980 Act; and

(i) the mitigation of any adverse effects which the existence or use of the highway proposed to be constructed by the Acquiring Authority will have on the surroundings thereof.

A copy of the order and of the accompanying map may be seen at all reasonable hours at Stubbington Library, Stubbington Lane, Stubbington, Fareham PO14 2PP and Fareham Library, 7 Thackeray Mall, Osborn Road, Fareham PO16 7EN and at the reception of the Hampshire County Council offices, EII Court, The Castle, Winchester SO23 8UJ and at any time on the Council's website www.hants.gov.uk/publicnotices

Any objection to the order must be made in writing to the Secretary of State for Transport, Department for Transport, Local Authority Orders Section, National Casework Team, Tyneside House, Skinnerburn Road, Newcastle Business Park, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE4 7AR before 9 March 2018 and should state the title of the order, the grounds of objection and the objector's address and interests in the land.
