We work closely with the The Early Education and Childcare Unit (EECU) and Children's Centre Services to ensure that we provide a complete design and printing service to all Sure Start Children's Centres and early education and childcare providers.

Sure Start Children's Centres

We produce a wide range of products for Children's Centres and will come to your work place to discuss any design or printing requirements.

We understand that Hampshire's Sure Start Children's Centres have to promote and market their services to their local community. The most effective way to do this is by distributing regular newsletters and information to families via local venues such as pre-schools, schools, libraries, community centres and GP surgeries.

Hampshire Printing Services work closely with Carla Martens - Children's Centres Communications Officer, to ensure that all Children's Centres are producing quality publications using the correct corporate branding.

Carla is happy to proof-read any document you are thinking of publishing to check that the content is accessible and that the style complies with the corporate style guide to maintain consistency across the Sure Start Children's Centres.

How to start your publication

1. Contact Hampshire Printing Services for advice and prices about your printing. We can either print from your own design/word files or complete the whole design and printing for you.
2. Write your copy and collect any images (permission required for images).
3. You can use one of the children's centres MS Word templates (in the box on the right below).
4. Check the Style Guide for guidance about the branding and design of your publication.
5. Arial or Futura fonts as these are the easiest for people to read, and please don't use cartoon clip art - real images or photographs look much clearer and more professional.
6. Email your document to Carla Martens for an initial proof-read and for help with any concerns about content
7. When you are happy with your content, send it to Hampshire Printing Services for the finalisation of the artwork or for the design to be completed and we will show you and Carla a proof for your approval.
8. As soon as you return your proof, we will complete the printing and deliver to you.

Newsletters

Hampshire Printing Services will print your newsletters for a fraction of the price it would cost for you to print them on your office printer, leaving you time to complete your more important tasks.

We can print directly from your digital files (Publisher/Word) or complete the artwork for you.

We will always ensure that your logo and the Hampshire County Council banding is correct before we proceed to print.

When we provide a proof for you, we also send one to Carla Sandercock to check that the corporate style is correct.
