REALM Project Launch Meeting - 29 November 2011
The Grundtvig REALM Project was officially launched by Hampshire County Council's Cllr Keith Mans on Tuesday 29 November at the offices of its Brussels representation, Southern England Local Partners.
Guest speaker, Maria Iglesia-Gomez - Head of Unit (Innovation for Health and Consumers - DG Health and Consumers (SANCO), European Commission spoke on the latest implementation developments of the Pilot Innovation Partnership on active and healthy ageing. The European Commission has identified active and healthy ageing as a major societal challenge common to all European countries and having launched this pilot project at the beginning of 2011, its focus will become the European Year 2012.
John Fitzgibbon from SELP went on to outline the key aims of the REALM project and encouraged representatives from the regions to apply for 15 paid travel places for 15 adult learning specialists to attend the four seminars in Brussels during 2012 (no staff time payment available).
Regions have until 14 December to express interest in becoming involved in the four seminars taking place during 2012 on a paid travel basis only with a view to providing case study material to the project by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
