This consortium is made up of three organisations each with complementary skills and with different roles within the proposed project:
Representing Hampshire County Council (HCC) in Brussels, Southern England Local Partners is responsible for providing understanding of EU policy in the area of education and culture, among others, and for identifying suitable project opportunities for its home based partners. HCCis the responsible body for the management and monitoring of adult learning in the county of Hampshire whose population is in the region of 1 million inhabitants. Its adult learning team report into the South East England Skills Funding Agency. HCC will be the lead organisation and responsible for project management and financial accountability of the project’s budget.
The Assembly of European Regions (AER) represents 260 regions from across the EU and further afield. It is a key European umbrella organisation for regional governments seeking to influence EU policy across its many key policy areas of focus including education and culture. AER’s role in the project will be dissemination to its members and the advertising of the project’s outcomes. AER will also draw in relevant regions to the project’s seminars and facilitate their inclusion via the best practice website.
Brussels Education Services (BES) is a private consultancy that has built a significant reputation since its recent establishment in January 2006. BES runs conferences on contract to DG EAC for Bologna Experts, undertakes project evaluations for the EACEA, and assists education and training providers from across the education spectrum in the delivery of their EU strategies. BES is experienced at drafting agendas for education conferences and at assisting the delivery of websites for its education target groups. It performs a vital intermediary role between education and training providers and the European institutions.
