  • Join Dr Clifford Williams as he discusses the history of women policing in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, starting with Miss Annette in 1915, and tracing the changes brought about by both world wars, and by legislation; particularly the Sex Discrimination Act 1975.

    Retired police officer Dr Clifford Williams has spoken to many former police women, and also delved into the police archives at Record Offices in London, Winchester, Southampton, Portsmouth and elsewhere in compiling a history of women policing the county.
