The Red House Museum and Gardens
A charming Georgian building, built as a workhouse in 1764, now filled with a rich variety of displays and objects which reflect the social and natural history of the area, its geology and archaeology.

The Bygones Gallery
Step into a bygone age and experience the charm and harsh reality of life in the workhouse when children worked from dawn to dusk making watch parts.
Discover 'People, Place and Time' in the archaeology galleries. From fragments of flint and pottery to a Saxon burial.

Peer in through the windows of this reconstruction of a local 19th century business
The Herbert Druitt Costume Gallery
Features the development of the 'traditional' white wedding, with a display of beautiful wedding dresses from 1805 to 1964. There are also grooms' and bridesmaids' costumes and many wedding accessories from the 19th and 20th centuries.
Red House Gardens
Relax in the aromatic walled Herb Garden featuring collections of herbs and old-fashioned roses, and stroll through the woodland walk in the tranquil South Garden.
Enjoy a pleasant cup of tea or coffee in the Museum Courtyard.
