The County Council keeps a register of the interests declared by each Councillor in accordance with Section 81 of the Local Government Act 2000. Each declaration is completed by the individual Councillor and submitted to the County Council’s Monitoring Officer.

The defining purpose of the Register is to provide information of any pecuniary interest or other material benefit which a Member receives which might reasonably be thought by others to influence his or her actions, speeches or voting on a matter as part of their County Council duties, or actions taken in his or her capacity as a Member of the County Council.
