General Registration Enquiries

For information and to make an appointment you can telephone the Hampshire Registration Service between 8am and 8pm Monday to Friday, and 9.30am to 4.00pm on Saturdays. Please call 0845 603 5637.

Calls to 0845 numbers cost between 4p (local rate) and 6p (national rate) per minute for BT customers. Calls made using other service providers or from mobiles may cost more. Alternatively you can call 01329 225397 to be charged at standard and local call rates.

If you need to contact the Hampshire Registration Service urgently outside the hours quoted above regarding a wedding involving someone who is terminally ill, or a funeral to comply with a specific religious burial requirement please call 07793 579056.

The registration service in Hampshire is responsible for the registration of births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships occurring within the registration district of Hampshire County Council.

We licence venues where civil marriages and civil partnerships may be conducted and registered and provide marriage, civil partnership, citizenship, naming, renewal of vows, commitment and civil funeral ceremonies.

In addition, we hold all the birth, death and marriage registers dating from 1 July 1837 for events occurring within the county and issue copy certificates from these registers.
