Petersfield Registration Office is now open on Fridays for ceremonies, and there are slots available for 08/08/08!

We:

• register all births, deaths and stillbirths occurring in Hampshire

• register all civil marriages and civil partnerships in Registration Offices and Approved Premises in Hampshire

• make declarations for births and deaths in other areas

• advise on re-registration of births ie where the parents of a child subsequently marry or when father's name was not entered in original entry

• advise on correction

• make appointments to register

• attend at certain church marriages

• register suitable approved premises for ceremonies

• register new British Citizens who attend Citizenship Ceremonies

• carry out legal preliminaries to marriage and civil partnership

• assist in appropriate circumstances those wishing to marry abroad

• Operate a Nationality Application Checking Service

We:

• conduct civil marriage ceremonies and civil partnerships in registration offices and approved premises

• perform citizenship ceremonies

• conduct and personalise alternative ceremonies such as naming, renewal of vows, commitment and remembrance funerals

• Licence Approved Premises in Hampshire

• carry out legal preliminaries to marriage and civil partnership

• assist in appropriate circumstances those wishing to marry abroad

• attend at certain church marriages

We:

• issue birth and death certificates for Hampshire events from 1837 to the present day

• advise on obtaining certified copies from other districts & the adopted children's register

• issue marriage certificates for civil ceremonies in Register Offices and approved premises

• issue marriage certificates for religious marriages when registers are completed

• issue civil partnership certificates

• issue stillbirth certificates or advise where these can be obtained from
