How do I obtain British Nationality application forms and information?

You can request application forms and information from the Nationality Enquiries Team, Customer Services Directorate, PO Box 36, Liverpool L2 0QN or download from the Home Office web site.

What is the Nationality Checking Service?

You can apply for British citizenship at a selected local Register Office if you use the Nationality Checking Service. Upon payment of a standard charge, a registered adviser will check that your application form has been completed correctly and take photocopies of all necessary supporting documents. Your application form, together with certified photocopies of documents, is sent to the Home Office for you, enabling you to keep your passport and other important documents.

If you are applying for British Citizenship under the Highly Skilled Migrant Worker Scheme you must bring your Home Office letter to your NCS appointment

Single Applications:

Adult - £50

Child - £50

Family Applications:

All Adults £50 each

Children (under age 18) £25 each if applied for at the same time as the parent(s) (mother and/or father) to a maximum of £150 per family, regardless of the number of children applying at the same time. Childrens applications must be made in person by one or both of the child's parents. The child does not need to attend the appointment.

All of our offices have the facility to take payment by debit/credit card and you are encouraged to pay using this method. All charges are inclusive of VAT.

How do I make an appointment to use the Nationality Checking Service?

General Registration Enquiries
You can contact the Hampshire Registration Service between 8am and 8pm Monday to Friday, and 9.30am to 4.00pm on Saturdays. Please call 0845 603 5637.

Calls to 0845 numbers cost between 4p (local rate) and 6p (national rate) per minute for BT customers. Calls made using other service providers or from mobiles may cost more. Alternatively you can call 01329 225397 to be charged at standard and local call rates.
