Become a British Citizen
Becoming a British Citizen is a milestone event in an individual’s life. As a British Citizen you are joining a community made up of different back grounds, cultures and faiths. To celebrate the occasion of becoming a British Citizen, the government introduced citizenship ceremonies.
Under the Nationality, Emigration and Asylum Act 2002 all applicants aged 18 years or over, who are sucessful in having their application approved to become a British Citizen must take a citizenship oath and pledge at a citizenship ceremony. Citizenship ceremonies can be organised at local Register Offices across Hampshire.
