What is the Nationality Checking Service?

  • The Nationality Checking Service is a partnership between the Home Office Nationality Group and Hampshire County Council.

  • It enables people applying for British Citizenship to make their applications in person at selected local Registration Offices.

How does the Nationality Checking Service Work?

  • For a set fee, a trained registered advisor will check that you have completed your application form correctly and will photocopy all necessary supporting documents.

  • Your application form, together with certified copies of documents is sent by registered post to the Home Office for you.

Why use the Nationality Checking Service?

  • You are able to keep your passport and other important documents.

  • Applications arrive at the Home Office containing all necessary details thus avoiding unnecessary delays.
