Civil funeral ceremonies

A traditional religious funeral may not suit everyone so the option of having a civil funeral in which individual beliefs may be reflected through words, readings and music can be very comforting.
Hampshire Registration Civil Funeral Ceremonies offer families the option of having a purely civil ceremony with no religious reference, or the inclusion of a simple prayer or hymn for those who do not feel that a full religious ceremony is appropriate for them. Our Civil Funeral Celebrants work within a clear framework aimed at providing the widest possible choice for Hampshire residents.
A Civil Funeral ceremony can take place at any time following a death – at the time of the funeral, when interring ashes, or sometime afterwards, and gives the opportunity for you to choose a unique and personal way of saying goodbye to a loved one. Your family is encouraged to participate in designing the ceremony and will be asked for their personal memories and other relevant details from which a unique and personal tribute is created to be kept and treasured.
Such a ceremony could include memorabilia, family tributes and anecdotes, together with favourite music or readings.
Civil funeral ceremonies can take place at any suitable venues: Hampshire crematoria, natural burial grounds, in your home, an hotel, or anywhere else that you may choose, such as a particularly favourite place.
