Commitment Ceremonies
What is a Commitment Ceremony?
Hampshire Ceremonies are delighted to offer you the opportunity for two people to make a public declaration of their life-long commitment, love and dedication.
For couples who choose not to get legally married or for same-sex couples who cannot, or do not wish to, enter into the new Civil Partnership, a Commitment Ceremony is the perfect way to acknowledge their relationship. Commitment Ceremonies do not, on their own, confer any legal rights.
Alternatively, couples who enter into a Civil Partnership from December 2005, will be able to celebrate their new status by incorporating the registration within a Commitment Ceremony.
Where may a Commitment Ceremony take place?
Commitment Ceremonies may take place at any venue such as your home or garden, hotel, village hall, or other favourite location. However, if incorporating a Civil Partnership, venues will be restricted by legal requirements to approved premises or registration offices which can be viewed on our web site.
Fees:
From lst April 2008 a non-refundable booking charge of £25 will be introduced for ceremonies in Hampshire. This will reserve the date and time that you have requested. In order to book a date for your ceremony please contact the relevant register office. Payment of the booking charge may be made by credit/debit card, cheque or cash.
