Fees
A non-refundable booking fee of £25 will reserve the date and time that you have requested for your ceremony. In order to book a date for your ceremony please contact the Register Office in the area where your ceremony is taking place. You may pay the booking fee and other associated costs by debit or credit card, by cheque (payable to Hampshire County Council), or in cash at the Register Office.
Notices of marriage / civil partnership
Marriage/civil partnership notice (per person) £30
Notice at the residence of a housebound or detained person £47 (The definition of a "housebound" person is one about whom a statement has been made by a registered medical practitioner stating that by reason of illness or disability they ought not to move or be moved from their home, hospital or any other place that they are at the time, and that their illness or disability is likely to immobilise them for at least three months from the date that the statement is made. A detained person is one who is detained in a mental institution or prison).

There is provision to hold a small low cost ceremony on a Friday or Saturday in any Register Office throughout Hampshire (excluding Winchester) in a standard room for the Hampshire fee of £40. These rooms are limited in size and may not be able to accommodate guests, other than two witnesses. Please contact the Register Office for further details.

In the event that you need to cancel a ceremony for which you have already paid, you will be required to provide a minimum of three calendar months notice in writing to be eligible for a full refund. Any requests for a cancellation inside this time scale will also need to be made in writing and will be subject to the following guidelines:-
Notice of cancellation between two and three calendar months – you will receive a 50% refund
Notice of cancellation of less that one calendar month (or failure to cancel) – no refund

Religious marriage ceremonies
Religious marriage ceremonies in the Church of England or Church in Wales: please check with the vicar of the church in which you are planning to marry.
Religious marriage ceremonies at a building other than Church of England or Church in Wales, unless the building has a person who is authorised to write in the register there will be a £47 fee for the registrar to attend and there may be further fees charged by the trustees of the building and the person who performs the ceremony.
Certificates
You will receive one marriage certificate on the day of your marriage, at a cost of £3.50. Additional copy certificates are available on request
You will need to specify the number of certificates required at the time of your civil partnership formation. These will usually be sent to you within a week of your civil partnership having taken place and cost £3.50 each. Any additional certificates requested after the day of the formation will cost £7 per certificate.

Corrections to marriage and civil partnership records
If you discover an error in your copy certificate please contact your local Register Office to discuss how a correction might be made.
