Statutory undertakers/utility companies

The term "statutory undertakers" refers to utility companies which are licensed by the government to install and maintain cables and equipment in the roads, footways and verges under the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991. They include all utilities -  electricity, gas, water, and telecommunication companies.
