Flooding

Flooding is a natural occurrence and no drainage systems or flood protection measures can give an absolute protection from all flooding events. The impact of flooding on the community and the health and safety risks are significant and the Environment Agency has a flood watch and warning system in place and a flood line number 0845 9881188 to call in the event of property flooding.

The Hampshire County Emergency Planning Department  co-ordinate emergency procedures when there are major flooding events that require a multi disciplinary input.

The roads in Hampshire tend to follow natural land profiles such as river valleys and are therefore prone to certain types of flooding particularly in rural parts of the County.

To ascertain if you live in a flood risk area information is provided on the Environment Agency website.

In the event of flooding of the highway contact us using the online form or call on the above number to report the problem.
