Apply for a dropped kerb vehicle crossing at your property

You can apply to the County Council have a dropped kerb installed on the road adjacent to your property. There is a charge for having the dropped kerb installed.

In most cases it will be possible for you to pay for a crossing installed.

What does a dropped kerb vehicle crossing involve?

  • Lowering of the kerbs at the edge of the road to allow access to your property/ driveway.
  • Strengthening of the crossing from your property boundary to the edge of the road
  • Moving or protection of items such as street light columns, railings and bollards and any pipes or cables belonging to public utilities underneath the crossing.
