Pruning roadside trees when branches overhang your property
Should you wish to carry out pruning to roadside trees, when branches overhang your property, you may do so given the following provisos:-
- branches may not be cut beyond the property boundary.
- pruning must not cause significant damage to the tree (e.g. large cuts can result in decay leading to further safety concerns).
- you have the responsibility for checking that a tree is not protected by a Tree Preservation Order or within a Conservation Area. Please contact your local District Council Planning Department (see below).
- please dispose of the cuttings.
