Business Driver Training
Hampshire County Council offers a range of in-car and office based driver training courses and assessments. The practical training is given by highly experienced Driving Standards Agency (DSA) registered fleet driver trainers. The courses are:
- Driver Profiling Assessment
- Business Driver Theory Workshop
- Driver Assessment
- Driver Training
- Driver vision screening
Driver Profiling Assessment
- Paper-based risk assessment to help client decide which members of staff would benefit most from training.
- Cost is £10 per person - refunded if that person then takes a training course.
Business Driver Theory Workshop
- Held at client's premises.
- Suitable for around 15 drivers.
- Half-day (am or pm).
- Cost is £200 (or £200 plus £10 per attendee to include vision screening and Driver Profiling).
Driver Assessment
- Conducted in client's own vehicle, from client's premises.
- Assessments available in durations of one, one and a half, or two hours.
- Up to six drivers per session.
- Client and driver receive a comprehensive written report.
- Includes Driver Vision Screening.
- A full day (six hours) of practical, on-road driver assessment costs £240 (this price for up to six drivers).
Driver Training
- Practical, defensive driver training course.
- Delivered by DSA registered fleet driver trainers.
- Up to three drivers per course.
- Vehicle provided by Road Safety team.
- Delivered from premises.
- Includes Driver Vision Screening.
- Full day session 9am to 4pm.
- First hour covers licence checks; vision screening; and a theory element covering driver stress, fatigue, mobile phones, drink/drugs, vehicle checks.
- Most of the day is devoted to practical on-road training, including a demonstration drive (with commentary) by the instructor.
- Practical training is followed by a short Highway Code and theory test.
- Drivers receive individual and confidential de-briefing. The Assessment Report is completed at the same time (drivers receive a copy).
- Client receives driver assessment report, vision screening report, and certificate of attendance for all drivers.
- Cost is £240 per course (up to three drivers.)
Driver Vision Screening
- Venue by arrangement.
