The graph above shows child casualties in Hampshire by both age and accident class.
The highest risk age group are those aged 12 - 15 years, which has 53 more casualties than the 8 - 11 age group.
Vehicle occupancy is the largest casualty class across all age groups in the County. The Road Safety Team have in car safety as a high priority, specifically targeting correctly fitting car seats, booster seats and the wearing of seatbelts.

This graph shows the child casualties by district; The New Forest has the highest figures, closely followed by Basingstoke and Havant; the lowest number of child casualties occured in Hart.
The largest number of child casualties are as vehicle occupants across all of the districts, with the exception of Havant, Hart and Rushmoor - whose highest child casualties are pedestrians and Gosport where the highest child casualties are pedal cyclists.
