Summary: Rural Delivery Strategy consultation paper
A consultation event hosted by Councillor Ellis, Executive Member for Performance, Efficiency and Rural Policy was held at Sparsholt College on 14 October 2008.
The seminar provided an opportunity for representatives of key stakeholder organisations and those with an interest in rural affairs to meet and discuss the issues and the County Council’s role with partners in responding to these issues and in supporting Hampshire’s rural communities. There were a number of themed workshops relating to this work and each person attending had the opportunity to attend 2 workshops.
A summary report of the workshop discussions has been published. The Consultation period on the draft Rural Delivery Strategy has now closed. The responses are being considered and will be reported to Cabinet in April 2009.
Rural Delivery Strategy consultation paper sought feedback upon the issues faced by our rural communities and sets out the vision and key objectives proposed in responding to them, both directly, and in partnership with other organisations. It also highlighted examples of the initiatives underway in tackling these issues, together with some potential future actions for the County Council.
