Royal Victoria Country Park

Overlooking Southampton Water, this popular park provides ideal facilities for children and peace of mind for parents to enjoy a safe environment. The relaxing and happy atmosphere is complemented by a calendar of events, exhibitions and walks.

  Heritage and Information Centre
  All that remains of the old military hospital, housing an exhibition of the site's history, the information centre, shop and toilets.

  Miniature Railway
  The Royal Victoria Railway has various miniature steam and diesel engines which run along a 1 mile scenic route. There are also various railway events throughout the year.
  Open throughout the school holidays and weekends, 11am - 4.30pm (closes earlier during the winter season). (NB. closes earlier in bad weather)

  Cedar Tearooms
  The Cedar Tearooms serve light lunches, daily specials (except when the function room is in use) and snacks.
  Summer open daily Easter to end of September, 10am - 5pm.
  Winter open daily until Fireworks Night, then weekends and half terms, 10am - 4pm.
  The Empire function room is available for weddings and functions. Tel 023 8046 3338.

Barbecues
The park has three large barbecues for hire which cater for up to 100 people and one small one for up to 20 people. Barbecues may be booked throughout the summer. Each barbecue is available for two sessions a day: 11am - 5pm and 6pm - 11pm. Large BBQ - £50. Small BBQ - £20. BBQ, benches, toilet facilities and free parking (at BBQ site only) are provided. Trails and Woodland walks
There are woodland walks throughout the site. A map of the major paths is available in the Country Park's information leaflet, and Tree Trail, History Trail and Sensory Trail trails - free trail leaflets available.
