How Hampshire Carries out Overview & Scrutiny

The County Council currently has 5 Committees which carry out the Overview & Scrutiny function:

·Policy and Resources Select Committee

·Children and Young People Select Committee

·Environment and Transportation Select Committee

·Culture and Communities Select Committee

·Safe and Healthy People Select Committee

There is also a Health Scrutiny Committee which has a different, external focus.

These Committees do not have decision-making powers but can undertake any of the activities described above under ‘What is Scrutiny'.
