Opportunity to apply for Sustainable and Healthy Access Routes funding.
Provision of materials that will support your objectives, such as incentives and prizes for pupils, advice sheets for parents, publicity materials and curriculum resources.
Enabling access to road safety services.
Increase in walking and cycling levels to reduce your carbon footprint.
Improvement in road safety awareness.
Pupils arrive ready to learn through active journeys to school.
Support strategies to improve attendance.
Support with aspects of Healthy Schools agenda, specifically with obesity and road injuries.
Facilitating parental choice.
Decrease in school gate congestion.
Enabling greater independence amongst pupils.
Provide a smoother transition process with linked schools.
Rates depend on the support required. For example:
Engineering advice or providing maps would be charged at an hourly rate
General support, such as updating a travel plan or setting up walking and cycling initiatives, would be charged at a daily rate due to the level of involvement.

The performance of the team’s outputs is measured through the school census’ mode of travel for all state schools.
This indicates whether there has been a decrease in car travel and if school travel plans have been successful.
School travel plans are also quality assured at a regional level to ensure standards are met.
Customer feedback is used to improve and develop this service, in line with the Quality Assurance Framework for Services for Schools.
Mechanisms for collecting the views of customers include the annual satisfaction survey and complaints, compliments and comments.
