Hampshire Teaching and Leadership College (HTLC)

Offering professional development opportunities through facilitation of learning opportunities.

This can include personalised programmes, short courses, conferences and continuing professional development in response to the current and emerging national agenda for all staff working in educational settings.

  • Brokering of learning opportunities across the system and with national partners.

  • Facilitation of learning for individuals, teams and between educational contexts.

  • Advice and consultancy.

  • Coaching.

  • A range of professional courses for primary, secondary, special schools and other educational settings covering:

    • development relevant to different career stages, such as newly qualified teachers, recently qualified teachers, experienced classroom teachers, and middle and senior leaders;

    • leadership;

    • pedagogy and professional practice;

    • assessment for learning and as a tool for tracking pupil progress;

    • services for support staff in addition to short courses. HTLC is an approved provider of preparation for support staff seeking Higher Level Teaching Assistant status and an OCR awarding body centre for support staff qualifications on the qualifications and credit framework.

  • Nationally accredited courses.

  • Programmes to support teaching schools.

 
  • Access to courses and development opportunities delivered by highly skilled and experienced practitioners drawn from the Hampshire Inspection and Advisory Service (HIAS) and from schools, including advanced skills teachers, leading teachers and other teachers experts in their fields.

  • Partnership with local and national partners, including National College, Southern Educational Leadership Trust and other local authorities.

  • Proven track record - during 2009 to 2010 HTLC delivered nearly 900 events catering for 19,000 delegates.

 

Based on a daily rate for staff, plus venue and administrative costs. HTLC is a non-profit making organisation.

Mechanisms for collecting the views of customers include the annual satisfaction survey and complaints, compliments and comments.

HTLC regularly evaluates its courses, including how well the learning was facilitated and anticipated impact on practice.
