Hampshire Talented Athletes February update
Olivia Breen competed at the Glasgow International Athletics Event at Glasgow and came second in the 60m combined T37/8 event.
Former heptathlete Tanisha Clayton has been selected to join team GB Cycling development squad.
Eindhoven Diving Cup in Holland
William Osborne returned from Holland with a silver medal on Platform and a bronze medal on the 3m. In both competitions he broke personal bests on individual dives and achieved his highest score for a dive of 49.20 on the Front 2 1/2 pike from 7.5m.
Lucy Hawkins had a good start coming 5th on platform and 10th on 3m springboard.
Sam Hatherley played for the GB U21 Men's hockey team in the Australian Youth Olympic Festival. With less than 2 minutes to go the GB team were winning, unfortunately the Australians scored to take the gold medal, leaving Great Britain with a very credible silver medal.
Elliott Dewey has been selected for the U16s England Ice Hockey team who will face Scotland in March followed by a oversees tournament in Tilburg, Holland. He has also been selected for the U17s South East Conference team.
Danielle Harrison topped the GB rankings for the Advanced Novice Ladies.
Ebonnie Bridges competed at the British Championship in Sheffield. She moved up a weight group to the -48kg category and fought fantastically well in five fights, winning her first in 16 seconds. She lost her second but then went on in the repecharge and won the next three fights to take the bronze medal.
Sarah Hill won her first national title at the British Championships.
Elsa Wakeman has been selected into the England U17 squad for the Netball European Championships in Malta.
Sam Geller won a gold medal at the Hampshire Junior Indoor Rowing Championship with a time of 6:59.9 over 2000 metres.
Callum Torpey was named Man of the Match whilst helping Hampshire beat Dorset & Wiltshire 5-0.
Katherine Maskell competed in the NISC Open match and placed: 9th in the Rifle Championship, 3rd in the Class B Open Rifle, 2nd in the Class B Rifle Aggregate, 6th in the Ladies' Rifle, 4th in the Junior Rifle and 5th in the Geoff Partrdige Memorial. She scored a personal best in every match. She has also been confirmed to represent the GB Junior Squad for a match in Oldenburg, Germany at the end of May.
Kyle Finch finished 8th at the British Junior Open.
Imogen Smith has been selected to the GB Synchronised Swimming Squad. There are 12 full-time athletes and 4 part-time athletes. As Imogen is only 14 years-old she will train as a part time athlete to allow her to combine schooling and training.
Letitia McMullan has been selected to play for England cadets (under 15) in the Czech Junior/Cadet Open and the Home Six Nations event.
Emma Pallant is currently training in Australia and has improved her swim time enough to get her first World Cup triathlon start at the Australian National Championships.
