Elliott Dewey - Ice Hockey

Elliott Dewey photoElliott Dewey plays ice hockey for Slough Junior Jets. He was named All Star Defender at Hull Conference tournament and has captained the England Under 14 ice hockey team.

SHIOW: What are your most notable achievements?

ED: I have captained England under 14 team and played in Canada for my country. I was part of the team that won the nationals tournament and won conference tournament.

SHIOW: What is the biggest challenge you have faced?

ED: Fitting in school work with the regular club training, off ice training, matches plus monthly conference training and England Training in Sheffield.

SHIOW: What is your favourite sporting moment?

ED: Representing England in Canada (the home of hockey). It was my favourite moment because I had trained hard to make the team and all the time and effort was rewarded by playing for my country.

SHIOW: What are your top tips for aspiring athletes?

ED: Listen to your coaches; Make sure you can do the basics because they help in the long run; Never give up.

SHIOW: Who is your sporting hero?

ED: Alex Ovechkin (Washington Capitals NHL team and Russia), he is strong on the puck and works hard.

SHIOW: Who has most influenced your success

ED: My club coach Lee Ealey-Newman and friends and family who all encourage me to try hard all the time making me become a better player.

SHIOW: Which 10 words best describe you?

ED: Focussed, Hardworking, Dedicated, Strong, Determined, Competitive, Experienced, Healthy, Fun and Tall!
