The Southern Internal Audit Partnership offers a wide range of internal audit services.

  • Risk based audit:

    risks and controls associated with the achievement of defined business objectives are identified. Both the design and operation of the controls to mitigate key risks are assessed and tested, to ascertain the residual risk to the achievement of managements’ objectives.

  • Fraud and irregularity investigations:

    specialist skills and knowledge are provided to assist in, or lead an investigation; and fraud prevention controls and detection processes are assessed to ascertain their effectiveness.

  • IT audit:

    specialist audit services to review the operation and development of the main computer systems of an organisation, providing assurance that the IT environment is well controlled and operating effectively.

  • Procurement/Contract audit:

    specialist audit services to review commissioning, procurement and contract management arrangements..

  • Value for money audit:

     the critical examination of an organisation's activities to assess the efficiency, effectiveness and economy.

  • Developing systems audit:

    plans and designs of systems under development are assessed to identify the potential weaknesses in internal control and risk management; and programme / project management controls are assessed to ascertain whether the system is likely to be delivered efficiently, effectively and economically.

  • Compliance audit:

    the operation of controls in place to fulfil statutory, good practice or policy compliance obligations.

  • Advisory services:

    advice can be provided, either through formal review and reporting or more informally through discussion or briefing, on the framework of internal control, risk management and governance.

  • Regularity audit:

    audit of a body’s activities, examining the daily operations to ensure that there is a satisfactory level of accuracy and accountability in those operations.

  • Analytical audit:

    undertaking of particular work where the analytical skills of the Internal Audit Partnership are used in the audit of any individual aspect of an organisations activities.
