A breath of fresh air – smokefree homes and cars
Children are particularly vulnerable to secondhand smoke because they breath faster and take in more toxins than adults, and also their immune systems are not as developed. ‘Smokefree Homes and Cars’, a national campaign that runs until mid-July, aims to build on last year’s successes and raise awareness of the dangers of secondhand smoke for children.
To help people learn more about the dangers of secondhand smoke and show how to protect others from the effects, the campaign offers a free Smokefree Kit which includes information, guidance and tools to stop smoking.
For more information on stopping smoking ask your GP or go to Quit4Life.
