HTAS athlete Rob Tobin in Team GB
Athlete Rob Tobin, a member of the Hampshire Talented Athlete Scheme, has been selected for Team GB to compete at the Olympics this summer.
Rob, who is from Basingstoke, made his Olympic debut at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. He was a member of the 4x400m team who placed just outside of the medals in fourth.
Talking about selection Rob said: "Making an Olympic games is an amazing achievement and very proud of the fact that this will be my third. But even more so being a home Olympics means that it is once in a lifetime opportunity. I have been very fortunate to be supported this year by the Hampshire Talented Athlete Scheme and without this support I may not have made the Games. They have supported me through the most difficult time of my career in sport and I am very grateful for all the support that they have given me along this difficult journey to an Olympic Games."
