New U21 football division in Southampton

The City of Southampton Sunday Football League (CSSFL) has been an established League since 1949. The League currently runs a total of 8 Divisions and after some partnership working with Hampshire FA they are now looking to create an UNDER 21 Division for next season (2012/2013). There has been national research to suggest that creating a step between youth and adult football can help address the number of players who fall out of the game after they have reached the 16-18 age groups and hence arrest the decline in male adult, 11 v 11 football. This division is aimed at those players between the ages of 18-21, who are now too old to continue playing within a Youth League. Those clubs with teams and players under the age of 18 are encouraged to join the City of Southampton Youth Football League or nearest equivalent.

To support and encourage clubs to enter this league Hampshire FA are offering the first 10 teams who register, a free match ball.

If your Club is interested in entering this division then please express your interest NOW by emailing: Hazel Andrews (CSSFL League Secretary). The League has started interviewing for the 2012/13 season.

Clubs who express an interest in this division will be invited to attend a meeting with the partners involved at a date to be confirmed.

If you are one of the first 10 teams to have completed an official registration with this division (i.e. submitted an application form and made payment), you will be notified by email with details on how to claim your free match ball.
