Support: Non-teaching opportunities
Working as a member of school support staff can be just as rewarding as working as a teaching professional. Workforce remodelling and the professionalisation of support staff in schools has increased the profile of the contribution that you can make as a member of support staff. Whether you want to work directly with children in the classroom or at lunchtime, as a cover supervisor or more specialist role or indirectly in roles such as cleaning/site support, administration or catering, you will be a valued member of the school team. Workforce remodelling has also lead to a greater range of support roles, including posts in IT, pastoral care and sports coaching.
Whatever support role you take on, you can be reassured that Hampshire is passionate about your development. Hampshire’s Teaching and Leadership College are committed to creating opportunities to enable all support staff to achieve their full potential when supporting teaching and learning in Hampshire schools, whatever role they undertake.
