Formal Agreement establishing TfSH

The establishment and operation of the Transport for South Hampshire partnership are governed by a legal agreement. The agreement was considered and agreed by the Joint Committee on 16 October 2007 and was approved and sealed by the three constituent authorities of Hampshire County Council and Portsmouth and Southampton City Councils. Local Transport Plan - Strategy for South Hampshire

This transport strategy sets out the shared  approach to transport in South Hampshire to 2031. It has been developed jointly by the three Local Transport Authorities of Hampshire County Council,Portsmouth City Council and Southampton City Council, working together as Transport for South Hampshire (TfSH).

The Department for Transport's (DfT) Local Sustainable Transport Fund (LSTF) challenges local authorities to develop packages of measures that support economic growth and reduce carbon in their communities as well as delivering cleaner environments, improved safety and increased levels of physical activity.

Transport for South Hampshire submitted its Large Project bid proposal in June 2011 and was informed in August by DfT that it has been short listed for final funding approval, subject to submission of a satisfactory detailed business case.
