Eco Labelling

Introduction

We are responsible for the enforcement, at retail level, of legislation which requires various household appliances, such as washing machines and tumble driers, to be labelled with their energy efficiency rating. The labels include colour coded bars for easy comparison, and, go from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient). Products which are labelled correctly can assist the consumer, for whom energy efficiency is a criteria, in determining what products to buy.

Our Work:

  • Inspection of  retail premises to ensure that the Energy Information labels are present on all appropriate electrical products.

For Consumers / Business:

I am concerned about misleading or false green claims
