Transport Planning

All Saints C of E Junior School

The purpose of the scheme was to make Crookham Road a safer environment for children travelling to or from All Saints C of E Junior School.  Works as shown below were completed early Summer 2011 .This scheme supports two of the Fleet TAP strategies:

Pedestrian and Cycle : Action Plan schemes PC15m and PC15n provide uncontrolled pedestrian crossings on Crookham Road.  Both with refuge islands.  Buff coloured surfacing and new road markings are provided to make the crossings more prominent.

Smarter Choices: Action Plan scheme SC1 progress with school travel plans in the area.  For All Saints, measures being procured by Fleet TAP are :

  • to improve/ put in a crossing facilities on Crookham Road – this scheme.

  • to put in a crossing facilities on Reading Road North, this is part Hitches Lane to Fleet Town Centre Cycle Route.  A pedestrian crossing phase was included as part of the junction improvement scheme at the Calthorpe Park access which was completed summer 2011.

  • to improve/ put in a crossing facilities at the junction of Crookham Road & Reading Rd South. Under Action Plan scheme TM1 there is an outline proposal to upgrade the existing traffic signals to include pedestrian phases.  However, until Hart District Council finalise their Vision for Fleet, this is on hold.

  • to provide a cycle path across Calthorpe Park this is part of the Hitches Lane to Fleet Town Centre Cycle Route.
